The Sukhumvit 9-ball league held an end of season Tournament Bash at Calaluna in Times Square.
The end of season bash had the following aims:
- End the Season in a huge Bash with a great time for all!
- Award League and Championship Trophies
- Hold an open tournament for anyone who has played in the league; and
- END THE SEASON IN A HUGE BASH WITH A GREAT TIME FOR ALL!
The Bash achieved its aims and more! At the end of the tournament, an impromptu auction was held for a prize that was donated by Suwan Palm Resort (http://www.suwanpalm.com) and 4,500 baht was raised for the Pata Foundation (http://www.pata.org/patasite/index.php?id=558) to help rebuild after the Tsunami in Khao Lak!
Kudos has to go to Mark of the league for organizing the event and Calaluna for being a perfect venue for the event!

Mark in Calaluna surrounded by trophies and prizes!
NOTE: The 8-Ball league will be starting soon. Any bars who wish to participate should contact Mark: kohchai@hotmail.com This includes outdoor bars as well as indoor bars. The new league looks to include venues from Silom, lower Sukhumvit (Soi 4), mid Sukhumvit (Soi 33), and possibly upper Sukhumvit (Thong Lo). Sorry, no plans for Bang Na quite yet.
THE VENUE
Calaluna is easy to find. It's in the Times Square Building on Sukhumvit between soi's 12 and 14. On the ground floor it's tucked in the back left side.
Calaluna has a splendid bar, 3 coin-op pool tables, and good food. Hint: The duck in red curry sauce is pretty darn good and spicy!
Great staff compliments the laid back atmosphere. This is not a place that's obvious to the casual stroller so if you're looking for a comfortable place to while away the time during the wee hours of the night you might be rewarded.
