One of the first real pool satellites away from Nana, this former snooker club is a pool bar with food inhouse to save you stepping out. There is cheap beer and girls galore ready to prove they are not wasting their time in dingy pool halls. A nice introduction to Soi 22 and its odd little clusters of girlie bars and tired restaurants. Some serious players drop by this user-friendly club.

I used to be a regular here and at the time there was a friendly but competitive spirit amongst the patrons.

Seems a bit tired these days cues and tables are in need of refurbishment.

I recommend it as a pleasant venue for a night's pool.

Flyer’s doesn’t have anything major going for it but it’s got a great atmosphere. Populated largely by locals with a great mix between Japanese, Thais, Brits, Americans, and what have you.

People is really what makes this place and we’ll get back to them in a moment. Let’s talk about the physical aspects of the joint:

4 tables downstairs. 5 tables upstairs. 9 tables in all. The tables aren’t full sized. Maybe 8 ft tables. Well used. Spacing is okay, with few obstacles if any.

Cue selection isn’t great considering the number of tables and the balls are scratched but in generally okay condition.

Food is served. It’s edible, but there are so many nice restaurants around Flyer’s I tend to take a walk, but if I really got the munchies, I’ll pick up something there.

Now, back to the people! Staff is great! Previously they had a number of stick in the muds but thankfully they are all gone! A few of the locals here can shoot a good game of pool. They play standard American rules. Call pocket. Fouls are one shot ball in hand. The only funky rule is that if you jump a ball off the table you automatically lose the game (probably because there is a lot of glass in this place – not to mention turnover is faster).

Locals are friendly. Not the standoffish folks with chips on their shoulders. It’s a nice place to shoot some good pool with a very nice international mix of folk.

Table: 9-tables. Not full sized, maybe 8 foot, maybe 7 foot. Well used.
Balls: Chipped but okay
Cues: Okay selection, but I’d expect more from a place with 9 tables.
Staff: Great
Flooring: tile
Atmosphere: Very comfortable with good play and friendly locals makes this a nice joint to call home base
Intangibles: The people
