This is a serious pool venue, and by all accounts almost certainly the best in Bangkok. The Ball in Hand is maybe Bangkok's only venue featuring professional quality pool tables and equipment with polite, professional markeys attending to each table. They are very serious indeed and the club is beautiful if lacking in the elements the less serious player seeks. But to help you improve your game, there are certified instructors and a Pro Shop which stocks a wide range of cues. The room's Sovereign Tournament Pro tables are fitted with the highest quality Italian slate, Artemis Pro rails, Simonis 860 Tournament cloth, and the Aramith Pro-Cup TV balls are racked with Sardo tight racks. The house cues are Cuetec and fitted with a Talisman Pro tip.

Four 8' tables and eight 9' top quality tables make this the best pool place in town. You can hire tables by the hour (cost calculated by the minute) and if you fancy a challenge you'll generally find one. Be warned though, there are a lot of hustlers lurking in the shadows - all friendly enough, but they'll take your money if you're not careful. Not that anyone gambles in Bangkok, of course! BIH and Hillary Bar (just across the car park) hold weekly comps, with the venue alternating each time. Lots of 9-ball played here.

My favorite place to spend an hour every afternoon in hot or humid or rainy or hotandhumidandrainy Bangkok. Strictly professional and pool only with no other agendas. Delicious air conditioning and no one bothers me. I can't play pool but I don't have to hear about it and no one male or female is trying to hustle me. Love it.

I wonder if you can help me . I am urgently trying to get contact details for a guy I met in Bangkok named Gary . He is a big guy with a shaven head from New Zealand. His girlfriend works at a pool hall with many tables . There are upstairs and downstairs sections . It is in Sukhumvit Rd.
The main man (I think his name is Steve . He is English and his son is a really good player .)He seems to manage the place and has a big part in the pool competitions in Sukhumvit .Could you please help me . There is no bad reason for this I really want to link up with Gary when I get to Bangkok .
